1. Acceptance
By accessing or using FigCanvas, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, researchers, students, and educators.
2. What FigCanvas provides
FigCanvas is an AI-powered platform for creating scientific figures. The service includes:
- ·AI-generated scientific illustrations from text descriptions
- ·Data visualization from uploaded CSV/Excel files
- ·Flowchart and diagram editor
- ·Interactive canvas editor with multi-panel composition
- ·Code execution in sandboxed environments
- ·Export in PNG, SVG, and PDF formats
We may modify, update, or discontinue features at any time. We will notify users of significant changes.
3. Your account
You are responsible for:
- ·Providing accurate account information
- ·Keeping your login credentials secure
- ·All activity that occurs under your account
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- ·Use the service for illegal purposes
- ·Upload malicious code or attempt unauthorized access
- ·Scrape or bulk-download content from the platform
- ·Circumvent rate limits or abuse AI features
- ·Create intentionally misleading or fraudulent scientific visualizations
- ·Reverse-engineer AI models used by the platform
- ·Disrupt the service or interfere with other users
5. Your content
You own your uploaded data, text prompts, and the projects you create. By using the service, you grant FigCanvas a limited license to store, process, and display your content as needed to operate the platform (for example, rendering your projects and generating AI output). This license ends when you delete your content or account.
6. AI-generated content
- ·You retain full ownership of AI-generated figures created through FigCanvas
- ·You may use them for any lawful purpose, including publication in journals, posters, and presentations
- ·You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content before publishing
- ·AI may produce different results for identical inputs
- ·We recommend noting that figures were created with AI assistance when publishing, in line with emerging journal policies
7. Reference figures
FigCanvas provides access to published research figures as style references. These figures are sourced from open-access literature and are displayed for reference purposes only. They are not included in your exports and may not be used as your own work. Always cite original sources when referencing published research.
8. Payments and subscriptions
Free accounts include daily credits with no watermarks and full publication rights. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. You can cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
9. Privacy
Your use of FigCanvas is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.
10. Disclaimers
FigCanvas is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time through the settings page. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
